Description: Statue of the 1st Marquess of Reading in Eldon Square Gardens. The Statue by Charles Jagger and completed in 1935 was originally erected in Delhi but was repatriated to Reading in 1961 and erected here in 1971. The nose had been damaged and badly repaired. In 2003 sculptor Jamie Vans carved and fitted a replacement in marble.
