Description: Bank of New South Wales, Gympie, ca. 1872 The bank is a wooden building with brick facade. The side aspect of the bank has a verandah with decorative railings. On either side of the street entrance, the bank's sash windows are covered with wooden blinds. Gympie is a city in south-eastern Queensland, situated on the Mary River about 162 kilometres north of Brisbane. Gympie is the centre of an important dairying and agricultural district. In the early days timber was a significant industry.
