Description: Flood waters at the Breakfast Creek Hotel, Brisbane, 1893. Flood waters at Breakfast Creek in 1893. The Breakfast Creek Hotel has some architectural features of the Italianate period 1870-1890 in Australian architecture. Typical of this design is the towers with cast iron cresting, and a complexity of windows, some arched, and elaborate mouldings. The building is a two storey construction with a number of people standing on the top verandah looking down to the flood waters. The flood water line is a third of the way to the top of the building.
