Description: Prospect Cemetery is a historic cemetery located in the Jamaica section of the New York City borough of Queens. It was established in 1668 and known as the "burring plas." It is the oldest cemetery in NYC. Located on the campus of CUNY's York College it was behind St.Monica's Church which has been converted into a campus child care center. Viewed from the doors of the Chapel of the sisters facing east behind St. Monicas.
