Description: Henry H. Smith/J.H. Murphy House on the NRHP since July 7, 1983. At 512 E. 6th St., Davenport, Scott County, Iowa. Built by Davenport merchant Henry H. “Variety” Smith in 1854 based on the philosophy of phrenologist Orson Fowler. It was designed by Davenport architect Willett L. Carroll. Looks to be in fairly rough condition now.
