Description: Small Isles. Companion photograph to 1332191 The island in the foreground is Eilean na Gabhar - 'The island of the goats'. Eilean nan Coinean, with the trig point, is 'The island of the rabbits', and the island behind with two hills is Eilean Bhride - 'Bride's or St. Bridget's Island', either named after the Saint herself or her special bird, the Oyster-catcher. The island chain is formed by the tough volcanic rock, epidiorite.
