Description: "Skew Bridge" (PHMC historical marker) or "Askew Bridge" on the NRHP since March 1, 1973. On North 6th Street near Woodward Street, Reading, Pennsylvania. According to the PHMC state historical marker (not visible) it was designed by Richard Osborne in 1857 for the P&R (Reading) Railroad. Each course of the 40 foot arch is ellipsoidal and the stones are properly curved to accommodate the skew. There is no keystone.
