Description: The Butterworth Building, 1921 First Avenue, Seattle, Washington, is on the National Register of Historic Places, ID #71000873. Originally a mortuary (the Halloween Listings in Seattle alternative weekly The Stranger say it was Seattle's first, but I suspect it is merely the oldest surviving). There have been many claims that the building is haunted.
