Description: Samson-Raphael-Hirsch-Schule (formerly named as "Realschule und Lyzeum der Israelitischen Religionsgesellschaft"), Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany, a jewish orthodox school for boys and for girls, founded by Samson Raphael Hirsch in 1853. The undated picture which was probably made in the first decade of the 20th century shows the new school building which was erected in 1881. It replaced the old smaller school building as the amount of pupils increased steadily. The school which was named after its founder in 1928, was closed on 30 March 1939. The building was harmed by Allied air raids in WWII (1943) and got opened again between 1946–1948. The building was taken down in 1960.
