Description: Insect damage to saguaro cactus. At lower right, the wound from a caterpillar's exit hole looks like a dark rosette, about the size of a US dime. Insect trails inside the cactus also create dried structures similar to a saguaro boot, but without the larger aperture that signals a nest hole.
