RUSSELL, A FORMER SLAVE, WAS TRAINED AT HAMPTON INSTITUTE ANSD BISHOP PAYNE DIVINITY SCHOOL IN PETERSBURG. THE SCHOOL CLOSED IN 2013 BECAUSE OF FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES
