Description: Royal Naval Patrol Service Veterans War Memorial. Grimsby Royal Docks was the largest base for minesweepers in the British Isles, and minesweepers from this base used to go out into the North Sea to sweep the shipping lanes, passing the dock tower and Queens Steps as they went out into the shipping lanes of the Humber.The memorial built between 2nd September, 2001,and August 2003, paid for by the veterans on land given to them by Associated British Ports close to the Dock Tower and the Queens Steps.
