Description: The Theodore Roosevelt Dam, the first and largest of the dams on the Salt River in central Arizona, providing flood control, irrigation water, and hydroelectric power. It was dedicated by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1911. The site is designated as a Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society for Civil Engineers and is a former U.S. National Historic Landmark.
