Image: Robert Grant of Lurg, c. 1769, Rossdhu version
Description: Robert Grant of Lurg (d. 1771), portrait by unknown artist, c. 1769. One of at least four versions (three very similar, but one with a red tartan), this is the one from Rossdhu House (Dunbartonshire) on Loch Lomond. This version is important, as it most clearly shows the reddish-brown stripe in the tartan.
Title: Robert Grant of Lurg, c. 1769, Rossdhu version
Credit: From tartan researcher Peter Eslea MacDonald, in turn from James (Hank) Grant's Historical Notes on Some Tartans Associated with the Clan Grant (2013) where it is in turn cited as 'Courtesy of Sir Malcolm Colquhoun of Luss, Bt.' Ultimately from the gallery in Rossdhu House.
