Description: River Irk source. Having submitted a picture of the marshy area hereabouts that gives rise to several springs that become the River Irk I had to, in all honesty, submit this too. This is the major source of water that becomes the Irk. The large pipe emerges from the marsh, which it appears to drain, discharges its load into the sunken bath which then overflows and becomes the infant Irk. Having photographed this river in many places along its length I was hoping for a more picturesque situation of the source! The Irk joins the Irwell about 16km away here - 42584
