I therefore prohibit with immediate effect the ritual slaughter - that is torturous killing of animals by the gradual letting of blood for the purposes of the so-called kosher eating of meat. § 2 (1) Anyone who commits ritual slaughter shall be punishable by severe imprisonment of more than one year. (2) An accomplice, an instigator or an accessory shall be subject to the same punishment as the perpetrator. (3) Attempted crime shall be punishable with the same penalty as an accomplished crime.
