The younger Garriott is a spaceflight participant flying to the International Space Station under a commercial agreement with the Russian Federal Space Agency and will become the first second generation American astronaut to fly in space when he is launched Oct. 12 on a Soyuz TMA-13 spacecraft to the orbital complex.
