Description: Australia: New South Wales, Sydney. RAAF Lockheed Hudson aircraft A16-35 in flight near Sydney Heads. Delivered to the RAAF on 9 February 1940, this Hudson served with No. 1 Squadron RAAF in Western Java during the Japanese onslaught of early 1942. On 22 February 1942, whilst stationed at Semplak aerodrome, which was completely without anti-aircraft defences, A16-35 was one of six Hudsons destroyed on the ground during a strafing attack by approximately twenty A6M Zeros.
