Description: This is a rare gold pectoral (centre) and golden cup (right) discovered within pharaoh Psusennes I's intact tomb at Tanis, Egypt, in 1939 by French Egyptologists. The wings of the pectoral are made up of rows of cloisonné stones crossed with vertical bands of gold. The inscription on the cartouche of Psusennes is inscribed in inlaid lapis lazuli. Psusennes I ruled Lower Egypt during the Twenty-first Dynasty of Egypt between 41 to 46 years and his tomb, which was never discovered by tomb robbers, held a rare treasure of priceless gold and silver objects and also contained the burials of the later kings Amenemope and Shoshenq II of the 22nd dynasty of Egypt. These objects are part of the permanent collection of the Egyptian Museum of Cairo and were placed on display at the "Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs" exhibition at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Texas, USA in 2022.
