Description: First proposed in the early 1910s and constructed in the late teens, the massive three arch viaduct was named in honour of Prince Edward on his visit in 1919. The bridge over Rosedale Valley was built in a similar style at the same time. From Parliament to Sherbourne, the valley was narrowed with an embankment to allow Bloor Street to be extended east to the new bridges. The builder fought long and hard to have the lower deck on the bridge. This saved the city millions when the Bloor-Danforth subway was constructed in ca. 1966
