Description: Prince Charles' Spinney, Richmond Park Prince Charles Spinney was planted out in the early 1950s mainly with native trees, protected from the deer by fences, to preserve a natural habitat. The bluebell glade is managed to encourage native British bluebells. Perhaps the handkerchief tree (Davidia involucrata) was self-seeded here - there is another example in Pembroke Lodge Gardens.
