Image: Portland Vintage Trolley current collector (2014)
Description: Instead of a trolley pole, the four replica Brill streetcars built in 1991–92 by Gomaco for the Portland Vintage Trolley service used this uncommon design of current collector that was a hybrid of bow collector and pantograph designs. This allowed the cars to operate under overhead wire that had been designed for use by pantograph-equipped light rail vehicles running on the same tracks. Although nearly unique, similar current collectors were used on Chicago's former Skokie Swift line until 1948.
