Description: Castle Square used to belong to the king. The buildings around it were created at the time when the Castle was extended, during the reign of King Zygmunt III Waza. This Baroque monument is unique in Europe, as it departs from the traditional model of a ruler’s monument. The sculpture of King Zygmunt III Waza is 2.75 meters (9ft) high, in archaistic armour. The column’s height, including its pedestal, is 22 meters (72ft).
