Description: The Old Grammar School, Plympton, founded in 1658 by the lawyer Elize Hele (1560–1635) of Fardel in the parish of Cornwood, and of Parke, Bovey Tracey, both in Devon. The building dates from 1664. In the left background is St Maurice's Church, Plympton. Amongst the pupils was Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723-1792) the painter, whose father was headmaster.
