Image: Pier 54 Seattle (Galbraith dock) circa 1901
Description: Pier 54, then known as Pier 3 or the Galbraith Dock, circa 1901, shortly after construction. The steamer T.W. Lake is also shown, apparently unloading barrels onto the dock. The T.W. Lake was engaged in the transport of lime from Roche Harbor, and Galbraith, Bacon were dealers in construction materials. Lime was transported in barrels, so it seems reasonable to assume this is the cargo being unloaded.
