Description: The historical Tanner Chapel A.M.E. Church, located at 20 S. 8th Ave. Phoenix, Arizona, was built in 1929. It is the oldest African-American congregation in Arizona. It was named after Bishop Benjamin T. Tanner. Designated as a landmark with Historic Preservation-Landmark (HP-L) overlay zoning Historic Preservation Individually Designated Properties.
