Description: The Southminster Presbyterian Church was built in 1954 and is located at 1923 E. Broadway Road It was the only African-American Presbyterian church in Phoenix when it was founded in 1954. The Rev. George Benjamin Brooks, a Phoenix civil-rights leader, was the founding pastor. It was listed as historic by the Phoenix African-American Survey.
