Description: The Progressive Builders Association Building was built in 1953 and is located at 2019 E. Broadway Road. The Progressive Builders Association built homes in downtown Phoenix, giving many African-Americans their first opportunity to buy a brand-new home. In 1945, members of the community met at the First Institutional Baptist Church and formed the Progressive Builders Association. It was listed as historic by the Phoenix African-American Survey and in the Phoenix Register of Historic Places and in the Phoenix Historic Property Register in June 2005.
