Description: The Southgate-Lewis House constructed by R.C. Lambie has a beautiful (and renowned) stairway with finely crafted hand-turned balusters and elaborate newel posts that include inset engravings of human profiles from ancient historical periods. On this flight of stairs, an ornamental downward facing pendant can be seen at the base of a newel post.
