Description: Millstones at Peirce mill (grist mill). Note that in the foreground, the mechanism (the wooden "pillar" which is about a meter high with the screw adjuster on it) is for adjusting the height of the millstones while grinding, and the wooden board running vertically through the middle of the photograph is to open and shut the sluice which feeds water to the water wheel.
