Description: Papyrus plants of the Arethuse's spring ("Fonte Aretusa") in Syracuse, Italy. It is a fresh-water spring curiously springing along the sea shore. Known since the Greek time, it was rearranged in the semi-circular lake which can be admired today (filled with fresh-water fish and papyrus) only in 1847, demolishing the upper part of the Spanish bulwark still surrounding it, which had been built in 1540.
