Description: Image of the Pan Pacific Auditorium Fire in Los Angeles May 24th 1989 by photographer Ithaka Darin Pappas. Although the building had been closed and in decline for more than a decade, the fire of May 24th 1989 ultimately destroyed the Pan Pacific Auditorium, which (built in 1935) had been considered an outstanding example of Streamline Modern architecture.
