Description: Kearny's Stump at en:Ox Hill Battlefield Park, in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. This was supposedly the location where en:Philip Kearny, a Union general, was killed during the en:Battle of Chantilly (or Ox Hill) during the Civil War. He is now known to have died a short distance away, but the stump (replaced with this stone marker) is part of the survey definition for a memorial plot nearby.
