Image: Old Swiss table knives
Description: I bought these in Geneva in 1975, a the Centre Social Protestant flea market. They have been in daily use since then. They closely resemble the knife in the painting The Ham by Edouard Manet, circa 1880. [1] They also resemble a knife in an old Swiss animated cartoon. Pitting and some rust of the low alloy steel is visible. Longitudinal marks are related to the way they have been cleaned. The cracking is is typical of old ivory.
