Description: Along the Seward highway near Anchorage, Alaska, a railway runs parallel to the road. Somewhere on that highway there is an easily missed scenic stop just off the road, with rock islands abundant with natural beauty. In some months, the view encompasses several Beluga whales trapped in the sand bars until the tide rises. Here is one of the rock islands at so-called Beluga Point, which a climber has explored to perhaps catch sight of a whale or two.
