The district includes Oakland Square, pictured here, and the area contains many older homes that were built in the 1890s. The neighborhood was conceived in the 1890s by developer Eugene O'Neill to mimic the streets of Victorian England.[1] The district is on the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations.
