Description: Comparison of male (left) and female (right) toads of the species Bufo quercicus (Oak toad). Note the sharply contrasted ventral surface, the presence of loose skin on the male's throat (vocal sac), and the slightly larger size of the female. Each toad is capable of darkening or lightening its coloring; the female was slightly darker when this photo was taken.
