Description: The bright colors of the Nutall's blister beetle make it easy to spot in native prairie. A group of them were eating the flowers off milkvetch plants when this photo was taken. Blister beetles will release a skin irritant if squeezed. Photo was taken at at Waterfowl Production Area in Waubay Wetland Management District in SD.
