Description: Researchers heading underground to explore and research the Natural Trap Cave in Big Horn County, Wyoming. A rotected by the BLM−Bureau of Land Management in Wyoming. An international team of scientists began its second field season of cave study and excavation at Natural Trap Cave, located in the flanks of Wyoming’s northern Bighorn Mountains northeast of Lovell. NTC is an 85-foot hole in the ground littered with the well-preserved remains of animals that tumbled in over the past 100,000 years. The international group arrived last week and after a couple days of prep work, they descended into the cave.
