Description: Well-preserverved fossil remains recovered by an American-Argentine research team represent one of the most-complete skeletons ever found of a juvenile plesiosaur, a marine reptile that swam the waters of the Southern Ocean roughly 70 million years ago. A mother and juvenile plesiosaur probably looked like this artist's rendering. Read more about the research at www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?org=NSF&cntn_id=108195.
