Description: Image of the plaque placed August 25, 1938 to commemorate the first rural electric line built in Michigan. The line, approximately 7 miles long was built to serve 12 farm families. It was the result of a cooperative effort by Michigan State College(now Michigan State University), Consumers Power Company(now Consumers Energy), farm organizations and the 12 families.
