Description: Manchester Central Library (UK) in St Peter's Square will shortly be closing for 4 years of restoration, refurbishment and modernisation. This iconic neo-classical circular building opened in 1934, and was inspired in part by the Pantheon in Rome, and the New York City Library. It is one of the finest and largest libraries in the country and some of the furniture and fittings date back to the 1930s. Looking across the tram lines in St Peter's Square.
