Description: Designed by architect Pascal Stienlet and opened on 5th June 1922, it seated 2,500 people, with the ballroom opening for afternoon tea dances and evening dances. This view shows the central entrance to the dance hall; cinema entrances were to the left on Wellington Street and right on Quebec Street. Signs on the front advertise Buster Keaton and 'Talkies'. The War Memorial, in the foreground, was resited on the Headrow by 1938.
