Description: Statue of Maitreya (240 cm tall), sculpted during the chinese Empress Wu Zetian reign (625-705), and originally located in the grottoes of Longmen. The picture was taken at palazzo Strozzi in Florence, where the statue was during the exhibition "China at the Court of the Emperors: Unknown Masterpieces from Han Tradition to Tang Elegance (25-907)" on Tang Dynasty art.
