Description: Maidscross Hill, Lakenheath Maidscross Hill is a Local Nature Reserve, a remnant of Brecks heathland. Its 50 hectares were opened in July 2004, with the help of lottery funding. The name is supposed to be a reference to 'maids' who carried crosses in religious ceremonies. The seating, designed by artist and sculptor Anita Rivera, represents the outer circle of a Celtic Cross.
