Description: Sketch of the Mordecai Lincoln house in Berks County, Pennsylvania, from the above history book published in 1907. Caption Reads "Ancestral home of the Lincolns, built about 1725 by the great-great-grandfather of President Lincoln; it is situated about eight miles south of Reading. From a sketch in the possession of D.E. Brinton." [1] Note that the Brinton family is closely associated with Chester County, PA since the beginning of the colony. House is still extant and now dated to c. 1733, with an addition extending the house into the hill c. 1760, and restored in the 1980s. This sketch is likely showing the building before the 1760 addition. Differences from the current state are the length of the building, the lack of one window on the first floor above the basement (near corner) and the size of the hood over the basement door. On the NRHP since 1988, Now in Exeter Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, not far from Daniel Boone's birthplace.
