Description: The Karagöl National park which is located within the borders of Şavsat and Artvin provinces, covers the plateaus of Karagol (Black lake) and Sahara. The area around Karagol is Paleocene or neocene and is separated by valleys, with cracks causing landslides, and dense forests. The area to the northeast of the lake, around Bagat, is good for grass-skiing. National Park was established in 1994.
