Description: The Lyon House at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site (c. 1855). It was rented to Henson Lyon, who owned a farm two-and-a-half miles east of Springfield. In 1868, it was purchased by Samuel Rosenwald, the father of Julius Rosenwald (part-owner of Sears, Roebuck & Co., founder of the Rosenwald fund, and founder of the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago).
