Image: Luchow's Postcard Cropped
Description: Luchow's ca. 1902. "Garden" as seen from "Cafe" showing effect created by skylights added in extensive 1902 construction. The big arched opening is actually a mirror. Gas lighting fixtures are shown. To the left is the door where the headwaiter stood. Within, R. is the office - later a semi-private dining room. This is a drawing from a Postcard of Luchow's ca. 1905 with edges cropped to show only the here visible drawing of the restaurant interior. The artist is unknown. It is probable that this was one of a number of similar postcards made in order to draw attention to the rooms depicted, which were completed in a major construction project and opened in 1902. Gas lighting fixtures are shown. Postcard has been slightly spindled or mutillated. (See brown column R.)
