Image: Little River Station Yard
Description: View from the northern side of the surprisingly large former yard at Little River. The main road from Christchurch to Akaroa runs behind the station, which is visible above the guard's van. Little River is one of the oldest surviving station buildings in New Zealand, dating to 1886. What is even more remarkable is that the trains ceased running in 1962 yet most of the infrastructure survives to this day.
